Until a few weeks ago I had never heard of the organic and free from skincare brand myroo but I am so glad to have been introduced to their products and I have been so looking forward to sharing them with you all too.
If you didn't already know, myroo's award winning products are specifically formulated for sensitive, problematic and allergic skin types. Their mission is for you to 'be comfortable in your own skin' and they hope to achieve this by offering skincare products that are suitable for all types of skin. All of their products are organic, natural, gluten free, nut free, fragrance free and importantly - vegan and cruelty free!
I was sent a few products to try out from the myroo range which I have been testing out at home over the past few weeks. I always find that when Autumn and Winter arrive it's a good time to change up my skincare routine a bit and I find that certain areas suddenly need a bit more tlc than others. One of these areas being my hands.
My hands without fail always tend to feel more dry and sensitive when the weather is colder and it's around this time every year I look for a more intensive hand treatment. I was therefore really keen to try out myroo's Hand Treat which sounded like exactly the kind of product I have been looking for.
Hand Treat is an intensive treatment made predominantly from avocado butter, coconut oil and geranium essential oil. I have in the past tried using coconut oil as an intensive moisturiser and I know it works well but I have to confess to finding the coconut oil smell a little off putting at times and I find myself getting tired of it quite quickly so I was looking forward to trying something a bit different. One of the first things I want to say about this product is that the scent is divine and certainly not one that would ever bother me. In fact I can't get enough of it and am continually raising my hands to my face just to breathe it in!
Aside from smelling amazing, this Hand Treat also goes a long way. It's consistency is very much like your normal coconut oil although it is more buttery and soft opposed to oily. You only need a tiny amount to get a really decent coating on your hands. It's actually a product I have found myself looking forward to using as it just feels and smells so great on my hands! I've also really enjoyed putting it on at bedtime to give my hands an extra deep overnight moisturise which has left them feeling incredible by the morning.
Another product I specifically wanted to try was their Superfood Balm which really is super because it can be used for so many different things. I have been looking for a multipurpose cream for a while now and none have ever really grabbed my attention until finding this one.
So what does a Superfood Balm do I hear you ask! Well, pretty much whatever you want it to. Its highly versatile in that it can be used to moisturise dry areas of skin, including those particularly hard areas like your elbows and heels. It can also be used as a massage balm, or even to tame down the ends of your hair or eyebrows. I've found myself reaching for it for all of these things but my favourite way to use it has been on my face as an intense overnight moisturising treatment which has worked wonderfully well. My skin has felt incredible in the morning and I even feel as though it has helped to clear up some of my spotty areas.
The balm I have been using is naturally fragranced with raspberry and cucumber and the scent is definitely not as noticeable as it is with the Hand Treat. You do however have the option with with all of the myroo products to buy a completely fragrance free version which is perfect for those of you would like to keep things neutral.
The concentrated formula of the Superfood Balm means that again a little goes a long way. I can imagine that both of these products are going to last me a really long time which makes them really good value for money.
I was also sent a miniature Facial Cleanser and a Skin Boost Facial Serum to try out as well. I wasn't sure how the Facial Cleanser would work on me as it initially didn't seem enough to completely take off all of my makeup but I was actually really pleasantly surprised by this. I usually go for a cream based cleanser so it felt really different using an oil one like this but it done the job and it's definitely opened my mind up to the idea of trying it again. The Skin Boost Facial Serum has also been a joy to use and I've found that it works really well as a post cleansing moisturiser. I do naturally tend to steer away from some oil based products, as my skin can be quite oily itself in places, but trying these products out has made me realise that I don't really need to and they work just as well as my usual favoured cream ones.
If you are interested in trying out some of the myroo products for yourself but are not sure what one is right for you then I'd really recommend checking out their handy Mini Trial Size Skincare Sets which includes all off the products I have reviewed and is only £8.00 (*I also think this would make an excellent gift for someone at Christmas!). This way you get to try before you buy full size versions but if you're anything like me I think you'll be a myroo convert after one or two uses!
