The Vegan Kind - #TVK18

This week my The Vegan Kind subscription box no.18 arrived!

I was so gutted that I missed my postie on the day that most other people received their boxes and I then unfortunately saw a few spoilers online which kind of ruined the surprise of what was inside this months box for me. But, nevertheless, I have to say that this #TVK18 box has been one of my all time favourites so far!

I was also super happy to see that I had been rewarded with my TVK recipe folder which marks my 6 month subscription anniversary. So yay! I finally have somewhere to keep all my lovely recipes opposed to stuffing them down the side of my microwave!

I have to say that I don't always love every single food item in the TVK box and sometimes there's the odd piece that I don't enjoy, but I think that's just part and parcel of sampling new Vegan foods in general. However, this month I am so happy to say that I absolutely LOVE every single item!

So what was inside this months box?

  • Ombar Coco Mylk Buttons - So far, on my journey into Veganism, Ombar are by far my favourite brand of Vegan chocolate and these buttons are simply delicious!
  • Coconom Ginger Coconut Sugar - I have never tried coconut sugar before and I was really pleasantly surprised by it. Its great to know that it is completely natural and made from only 1 ingredient (coconut blossom sap), and that it's gluten free with a lower GI level than regular sugar. To be honest it doesn't taste too far removed from regular sugar and I wouldn't say that it tastes of coconut. I really enjoyed it on top of my porridge this week and I'd recommend that everyone gives it a try!
  •  Soffle's Chilli & Garlic Mild Pitta Chips - Crisps are always a major downfall in life for me as I am pretty much addicted to them, so it's great to try out some healthier alternatives. These olive oil roasted pitta chips were so yummy! Handmade in good old London town, they contain 100% natural ingredients. I found them to be so filling and flavoursome with a real good after kick!
  • Eat Chic dark chocolate peanut butter cups with Maldon sea salt - This was to die for and my favourite item in this months box! Over the past few weeks I keep seeing recipe ideas for Vegan peanut butter cups online and I keep meaning to cook up some of my own so my eyes lit up when I saw this one was included! Its good to know that this East London based chocolatier uses high quality British and organic ingredients with 73% dark chocolate. The only downside for me was that I had to share it with my husband! They have a great selection on their website with some other flavours and gift ideas so I will definitely be placing an order soon.
  • Faith in Nature coconut hand wash - It really is like the TVK team just read my mind this month as Faith in Nature have been on my list of products to try for some time now. They produce a wide variety of Vegan and Cruelty Free hair, body and skin care products and have been around for over 40 years. I keep hearing great reviews about their products online and it would seem that everyone is a fan! This hand wash smells gorgeously coconutty and it has prompted me to order the accompanying shampoo, conditioner and shower gel just so that I cam immerse myself in everything Faith in Nature! I will be blogging soon about all of their products so keep an eye out.
  •  The Vegan Cookie Fairy  banana ginger butterscotch muffins recipe card - these look so fab but as I am trying to stick to a pre holiday diet right now all my Vegan baking is on hold until later this year! It's so hard to not bake right now as it's one of my favourite hobbies but on the plus side I am building up a great selection of recipes to try out soon.
So overall its been a FAB month for TVK subscribers! One of the best yet. And as always it just makes me even more excited for next months box! I tweeted the TVK team this week telling them that I honestly couldn't imagine life without this subscription box which I also noted was a tad dramatic but oh so true! Keep up the good work guys!
