Doughnut Time | Vegan

Last weekend I was enjoying a little shopping trip at Westfield Stratford when I came across the Doughnut Time van outside on 'The Street' section of the shopping centre. I had already heard of this doughnut company before and from all of the amazing photos I'd seen of other peoples doughnuts from there I knew they had some great vegan options so I couldn't resist checking them out for myself!

I had been expecting perhaps a couple of vegan options on their truck but in actual fact they had a really wide variety which actually made the decision process a lot harder. I think my husband and I stood there for a good ten minutes debating what flavours to go for! He always prefers the more traditional kind, whereas I am all about the most incredible looking ones.

All in all they had 'Hotline Ring' - a vegan glazed doughnut made to look like a party ring and with a party ring on top, 'Houston, We Have A Biscoff' - a coffee glaze topped with caramel butter cream and of course a Lotus Biscoff biscuit on top, the 'Sia Later' - a red velvet doughnut with butter cream frosting and freeze fried raspberries, the 'Cornelius Fudge' - a chocolate glaze topped with brownies and toasted hazelnuts and the 'Pump Up The Jam' - a raspberry plum jam filled donut dusted with cinnamon sugar.

It really was a tough choice and at one point we were debating just getting one of each but then realistically at £4 each that would have been a mistake for our wallets and our waistlines! So in the end we whittled it down to our three favourites - the Biscoff, the chocolate and the traditional jam.

We couldn't wait to get back, make a cup of tea and cut up the doughnuts! After a long day shopping it was exactly what we needed once we got back to the comfort of our own home.

Vegan doughnuts, in my own experience, can be a bit hit and miss at times so I went in with no real expectations and I was so impressed! These doughnuts are without fail delicious and I'd actually find it difficult picking a favourite from these three as they were all divine. I wouldn't have personally gone for the jam one had I been on my own but it was so impressive. It's making my mouth water just wiring this post and thinking about them!

They are a little on the pricey side but I would definitely recommend checking them out if you're in London and near to one of their locations. They actually have quite a few shops in London now which is great to see! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Have you tried a Doughnut Time doughnut yet!??

Where's your favourite place to get vegan doughnuts?

  1. YUM! I've had some amazing vegan doughnuts from Doughnut Time before. The other week I tried some from the vegan-only Crosstown Doughnuts store in Marylebone. It's almost impossible to pick a winner between the two but Crosstown may have JUST nudged past... Highly recommend you get in on the debate. ;-)
