July seems to have passed me by in one super hot and sticky heatwave, which for the most part I have spent complaining about! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a bit of sunshine and good weather but the continued and relentless heat really got to me to month. I did try to get out and make the most of it where I could and when I had the energy to but, and if I'm being honest, it's been a struggle! Thankfully as I'm putting together this post the heatwave is no more and I'm finally feeling a bit more like myself again. It's actually rained the last couple of days which has felt like such a relief. I don't think I've ever talked about the weather so much in my entire life!
Before it got really ridiculously hot we did take the bikes out for a ride to
our local pub which felt like the perfect Summers day activity!
I also made a little trip over to Maldon with my friend and her little girl and all three of us just loved cooling off in their splash park there. If you've never been I'd highly recommend it!
England surpassed my expectations in the World Cup. I was gutted they
didn't make the final but still felt that they done us proud!
I also partook in a little plane spotting when Air Force One came into land at Stansted Airport.
We're only a stones throw from the runway so it was only right we went and checked it out!
You can watch my vlog from this week here!
I enjoyed a first time visit to the beautiful vegan cafe Lone Wolves Organics.
And yes these donuts were as incredible as they look!
I discovered that the Stay All Day liquid liner by Stila is the
perfect eye liner to combat watery hayfever eyes!
I took my Mum to see Queen with Adam Lambert at the o2.
It was such a great night!
Myself and Andy enjoyed an afternoon out at Hitchin Lavender.
We also squeezed in a Wagamama's as I was having some katsu cravings!
I'm so excited that they're opening up a new restaurant in Chelmsford in August!
I'll finally have one closer to home.
I treated myself to some plantastic Happy Socks.
I discovered that Superdrug is excellent for vegan friendly and cruelty free mini travel toiletries.
I went on a vegan bloggers weekend away to Glasgow which was so much fun!
You can read my review or watch the vlog from my travels.
I got to attend a fantastic Rainier cherries event where we enjoyed a delicious cherry inspired vegan buffet and I got to meet my favourite vegan author Aine Carlin! These cherries are so huge and juicy and only available for a limited time whilst in season from M&S.
My dogs have been struggling in the heat and they've been missing their usual lunch time walks.
We've been taking them out in the evenings instead but once the thunder storm came and the heat broke we treated them to an afternoon out at their favourite place - Hatfield Forest.
All the countryside and the grass in my garden looks completely parched. It's felt more like Kenya than Essex! Here's hoping it can all bounce back now and come alive again.
I hope you've all had a great month and survived the heat wave! I don't know about you but all of this heat has just got me even more excited for Autumn to arrive. I literally can't wait! Candles, cosy blankets, jumpers, hot chocolates - I'm ready! But I have a feeling we've got quite a bit of a wait until then. Lets just hope August is a less intense month!
Until next time...
