Make The Switch To Ethical Skincare in 2020 | AD

It's a new year, a new decade and maybe time for a new skincare regime? You could be looking to make the switch to cruelty free products in 2020 or perhaps you're looking to shop more ethically and environmentally friendly? Either way, I think you'll be interested in hearing about Outback Organics!

Outback Organics fuse their ingredients with innovative natural extracts from the coastline, forests and bush lands of Australia. Many of the products contain either pure, organic tea tree oil or lemon myrtle oil which are two of nature's strongest known antiseptics and natural remedies in the treatments of various skin ailments. The entire Outback Organics range is completely free from synthetic colouring, fragrances, parabens and other harsh chemicals which can be really damaging  to skin. They're also importantly cruelty free and many of their products are vegan friendly.

Over the past few weeks I have been trying out a selection of Outback Organics products for the purpose of this review and below you can find a summary of each product I put to the test.

This two in one face and body wash with pure organic tea tree oil, mountain pepper extract and peppermint oil is designed to both cleanse pores and eliminate bacteria which can lead to spots. Simply apply a small amount to your skin and add water to create a lather.

When using the Skin Wash I found that I really enjoyed the fresh minty aroma which is perfect for waking up your senses first thing in the morning. If you enjoy a shower gel which gives you the tingles then you'll love this! I also really appreciate the the dual purpose element of this product as it generally just makes life a bit easier when you can use a body wash which is also safe to use on your face too. As it comes in a 100ml size I think this would be ideal for taking away with you in your hang luggage when travelling and saves on the number of products that you need to take with you. I did wonder if this product would leave my face feeling dry and taught but it didn't at all which was a welcomed surprise.

The Face & Body Scrub gently loosens dead skin cells and works on improving the texture of dry skin patches to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Infused with bergamot orange, sandalwood, patchouli and rose oils, this rich, moisturising scrub contains biodegradable jojoba micro-beads for a gentle yet effective exfoliating action. Enriched with natural organic cucumber extract, the creamy scrub is designed to be mild enough to use all over your face and body. Apply a generous amount to dry skin and massage in circular motions before rinsing off under running water.

As the product suggests, I used this Face & Body Scrub  2 -3 times a week and I absolutely loved the creamy consistency which I found really easy to massage into my skin. The scent of this product is so gorgeous I found myself really looking forward to using it! The scrub left my skin feeling so soft and smooth after using and has really helped with clearing up some Winter dry skin issues I have been experiencing recently. With warmer weather on the horizon, this product is perfect for getting your skin Spring and Summer ready!

This nourishing Hand & Body Lotion is rich is organ oil which hydrates the skin whilst giving it a natural boost. With Lemon Myrtle and peppermint extract, it offers an uplifting aroma and is perfect for use after a bath or shower. This lotion is light and easily absorbed and can also be used following sun exposure to cool and hydrate your skin.

I think it would be fair to say that I can't go anywhere without a hand cream in my bag, particularly during this time of year when my skin becomes the driest due to the harsh weather conditions. I get through a lot of hand cream so I always enjoy discovering and trying out new brands. I found this lotion was really nice to use on my skin, particularly because it doesn't leave behind any sticky residue after use which is often a major bug bare of mine when using any hand or skin products like this. It absorbs really quickly and has a beautiful zesty lemon scent which made me want to keep smelling my hands after using! The only downfall of this product for me is probably the size as it was a little too large to keep with me in my handbag so i'd love to see them bring out a 50ml size of this product too.

This refreshing, easily absorbed gel is formulated with powerful plant extracts to cool and calm the skin. Natural aloe helps to reduce sensitivity and redness whilst also conditioning the skin. This product is ideal for use after all forms of hair removal, including laser and IPL treatments.

I have actually recently been having a course of IPL treatments to remove sun spots and pigmentation on my face and I have used this product following my treatments to help cool down my skin. I often find that some aloe gels can feel quite sticky after use but I was impressed by how quickly this gel was absorbed into my skin and how dry it felt after using. I've absolutely loved using this Aloe Gel and plan to take it on holiday with me in the Summer.

These hygienic non-irritating biodegradable wipes are perfect for cleansing the skin and are especially suitable for use prior to hair removal. They are alcohol free and great for removing  makeup and keeping handy to clean up after children.

I have to say that I have avoided using wipes for a long time now, particularly on my face and since adopting a more rigorous skincare routine. However, there's no denying that they still have their uses and benefits. I often like to keep a small pack of wipes in my handbag in case I need to clean my hands when out and about and before eating. I don't have kids but I do have pets and more often than not we find ourselves reaching for a wipe when one of them has a little accident. It's really good to see more biodegradable options like these becoming available and I think if you are going to use wipes it's more important than ever to ensure that they are biodegradable and kind to the environment.

All of the products which were sent to me to try came enclosed in a handy little Outback Organics Wonder Travel Bag. This bag is made from EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) which is both biodegradable and recyclable making it earth friendly. The cotton and the alloy used on the zipper is also biodegradable and airport security friendly. This is a very handy little bag for carrying around the little essentials you need with you everyday and again would be perfect for taking away in your hang luggage with you when travelling.

It's always so great being introduced to new brands who are cruelty free and eco conscious. Having never heard of Outback Organics before I was excited to try out some of their products and get to know the brand better. Overall, I have been really impressed by the quality of these products and how well each of them have worked on my skin. I think it's great that Outback Organics have really tried to focus their attention on making their products environmentally friendly whilst also being a luxurious brand.
