Wulf & Lamb | Vegan

It's another week, and another vegan burger making an appearance on this blog. What can I say? I  appear to have a growing obsession for trying all the vegan burgers London has to offer and I can't see it stopping anytime soon! This week I happened to be in Chelsea for a skincare event and it presented itself as the perfect opportunity to make a long overdue visit to Wulf & Lamb which has been on my hit list since January of this year. So yes, it's only taken me nine months to get myself there! I guess that's a testament to how spoilt for choice we are for vegan food in London right now.

If you didn't already know, Wulf & Lamb are a completely vegan restaurant who opened their doors for the first time in September 2017. Their head chef is actually a man called Franco Casolin who just so happened to previously work at the infamous Vanilla Black restaurant in Soho which was one of the first contemporary plant based restaurants in the capital. Their menu has been specifically designed to meet our vegan comfort food cravings and I have to say the variety of choice is probably the best I've seen for some time.

They really do have a bit of everything on their menu and something for everyone. I was almost annoyed at myself for choosing the burger because it's generally what I always go for and I was so tempted by the sound of their open burrito and Tex Mex salad which both sounded incredible. They also have a pulled jackfruit and lentil pie on the menu along with a chilli and a curry and much more! The choice really was a difficult one but if anything this is further reason to make a return visit.

Inside the restaurant I would go as far as to say it's the most beautiful vegan restaurant I have ever been to. They are certainly appealing to the interiors and Insta crowd with their choices of marble top tables and luxe quilted chairs. I just love everything about it and it really does feel like a space you  can happily sit back and relax in whilst enjoying some good food.

Now onto the most important part, the food!

I ordered the Spicy Veg Burger which was topped with tomato, lettuce, gherkins and a cashew cream aioli in a brioche style bun. It was served with a few potato wedges, some ketchup and home made sauerkraut. I also couldn't resist trying out and sharing a side of Mac n Cheese with my husband.

Andy decided to try out their Wulf Burger which is a seitan burger topped with all the same things as were in mine. I think it's really great that they have two kinds of burger on the menu as not all vegans, like me, are keen on the fake meat thing so it feels like they are doing a really good job at catering for everyones tastes.

The food itself was excellent and it all got demolished pretty quickly. Both burgers were impressive and delicious and for once I was actually enjoying the vegan Mac n Cheese which is quite something! You may recall from one of my earlier posts this Summer that I made the claim that I think maybe vegans should give up on attempting to make a decent Mac n Cheese as I've never tasted one which has blown me away. I would say that the Wulf & Lamb version is probably the best I've ever tried. It was very rich, and I certainly couldn't have eaten a whole portion, but I was really impressed by the consistency and the crispy breadcrumbed top.

We were pretty stuffed after our lunch but having already clocked the selection of cakes and sweet treats at the counter I knew we wouldn't be leaving without trying something. As well as all of this they also have a dessert menu which includes Tiramisu, cheesecake, ice cream and more!

Andy went in for a slice of their red velvet cake which I of course had to try a bit of and I can confirm it was as amazing as it looks. I decided on their pecan brownie which came with a scoop of honeycomb ice cream and it was just incredibly divine! I would definitely choose this dessert again on a return visit.

As well as the gorgeous inside of the restaurant they also have seating areas both out the front and back. The outside area at the back was just stunning and felt like a real tropical paradise! I could have happily sat there all day.

I knew my visit to Wulf & Lamb wasn't going to disappoint and I'm just gutted it's taken me so long to get over there. The restaurant surpassed my expectations on so many levels and I would highly recommend it to all of you. It's the most perfect spot for a casual lunch date, a celebratory meal and even just as a coffee pit stop.

Have you been yet?
