Recently, and since coming off the pill, I have been experiencing quite greasy roots so I sadly can't get away with not washing my hair for very long. At the moment I wash my hair every other day and on the days when I don't wash my hair I always have to use a dry shampoo product to help my hair to feel fresh, clean and smelling nice.
I was recently contacted and asked if I would be interested in trying a new and different dry shampoo by a brand who are completely new to me, Tints of Nature. I of course said yes as I am always up for trying out new cruelty free and vegan friendly brands which I can then share with all of you!
Firstly, and interestingly, the Tints of Nature Dry Shampoo is in a non aerosol container. I have never used a dry shampoo which doesn't come in an aerosol container so this really was quite a unique experience and one that is definitely better for me and the environment. As you can see from my photos, it also has a directional nozzle which makes it really easy to apply, particularly to the root area.
Surprisingly, this small 15g bottle contains the equivalent of over 100 washes, which is a lot! I already foresee that it will last me a long time as a little seems to go a very long way. I therefore feel that the £11.99 price tag for this product is good value for money and it's certainly representative of the quality of the brand.
The small size of the bottle means that it's pretty handy for carrying around in your handbag and perfect for taking away on holiday in hand luggage as it's not a liquid.
The Tints of Nature Dry Shampoo is made from 99.5% natural and certified organic ingredients and, although I don't personally make a specific point of buying only natural and organic products, it's still nice to know that something you're using on your body contains no harmful or damaging ingredients.
Fragrance wise it contains 100% natural citrus ginger which has a very nice light and fresh scent. It isn't too overpowering, but it's enough to help your hair smell fresh and clean all day.
The organic ingredients within this dry shampoo work at cleansing and absorbing excess oil in your hair. These ingredients include:
- Tapioca starch to absorb oil and reduce greasiness
- Potato starch to soften and condition the hair
- Corn starch to soothe itchy skin and give great shine
- Rice silk (organic) to improve manageability and the smoothness of the hair
- Hectorite Clay (organic) to absorb moisture
Tints of Nature are a completely cruelty free brand and you can read up on their animal testing policy here. All of their products are suitable for vegetarians and the majority are also suitable for vegans too which is great!
When I first used this dry shampoo I wasn't completely sure what to expect and on my first spray I was amazed to see a puff of powder expel from the nozzle. I immediately questioned how this would work on my dark hair and roots, especially as my experience of white powdery dry shampoos in the past hasn't been too good, and I've even seen photos of myself with a weird dusty looking hair parting!
Thankfully, and to my amazement, this product left absolutely no chalky residue on my hair. Furthermore, I actually feel as though the powder done a super good job of de-greasing my root area along with lifting my roots making my hair feel noticeably more alive again.
I really wasn't expecting this dry shampoo to work for me as well as it has done and i've been impressed to experience such good results from natural ingredients. This is definitely a product I would recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a more natural and eco friendly dry shampoo which is also vegan friendly and cruelty free. It ticks all the boxes!

ReplyDeleteI've never really found a dry shampoo that does quite what I want it to but this sounds amazing! Good to know it doesn't leave any chalkiness behind - that's my pet peeve when it comes to products like this haha xx

If you are looking for a new type of dry shampoo, you should really have a look at Zerreau "towel off" shampoo. It is a kind and gentle foam you massage in (that lifts dirt) and then towel off to remove it. Available in Sainsburys and not tested on animals :-)
