The Vegan Kind ~ #TVK22

It's that time of the month again for me to review my latest Vegan Kind subscription box TVK22.

On the morning of my box arriving I decided to mix things up a little and do a live Periscope of my unboxing. This was my first proper time of using Periscope and it was fun although I did find the whole unboxing process plus recording and talking to the camera all at the same time quite a challenge! I was hoping to share that little video with you on today's post but unfortunately I think after a certain time Periscope deletes old videos so no can do. But if you haven't yet downloaded the Periscope app you should as it's great fun and I will be planning on using it a lot more in line with my blogging and social media activity.

I do remember that whilst I was doing my live unboxing it seemed as though there was so much inside this months box!

So here's a little run down on what we received and my thoughts:

Sticky Mix Free From Belgium Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix -  I was really excited about this great looking product and impressed by it's general weightiness when taking it out of the box. As you may already know I subscribe to other monthly boxes and I absolutely love it when a little DIY project is included so I really couldn't wait to have a go at making these cookies. After having read the box it all sounded so easy and straight forward which I also really like as it meant I could get started on them straight away without having to buy anything else. The only problem for me was that I employed the help of my Mum who has a dodgy measuring glass and she gave me too much water. This then left me in a slight pickle of having a far too runny mixture which I attempted to make right with more flour but it just wasn't really happening and sadly for me my cookies didn't turn out how they were supposed to. They were still ok tasting but after having seen so many other photographs on Instagram I felt very let down by mine! So I guess i'll be buying another box and hopefully next time i'll get them right. I do have to say that despite it going wrong for me this has been one of my favourite box items ever!

Teatonics Ruby Red Restorative Tea - Another great sized item in this months box, a whole packet of 14 teabags. I have to admit I can be a little picky when it comes to herbal teas and I tend to only go for the pretty standard flavours like green or green with lemon. I'm not really a fan of anything too fragrant. When I tried this tea I was actually pleasantly surprised as it wasn't as strong as I thought it would be and it was pretty refreshing. The main flavour that I could taste when drinking this tea was vanilla but this was pretty subtle. I think I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it, especially in the evening when I am winding down for the night.

IQ Orange with Wild Raspberry Chocolate Superfood Bar - Another new brand to me and one I was instantly looking forward to trying. I do tend to struggle with Vegan chocolate as I don't love dark chocolate and this has been the biggest hurdle for me in going Vegan. That along with the fact that it's pretty difficult to get Vegan chocolate anywhere near to where I live so I really need to plan ahead and order some in if I want some. As soon as I tried this chocolate I really liked it and I think that's mainly because dark chocolate and orange flavours go really well together. Again for me it's not a chocolate that I could sit down and devour a whole bar of but what I found that was nice was just having a square a day as it really helped to kick those sweet cravings. This is a really nice Vegan chocolate and one I would definitely purchase again.

Hoots Salt & Pepper Multigrain Snack - If you haven't yet tried Hoots you must have been hiding underneath a rock! I think I first came across them at London VegFest and have been hooked ever since. They're just a really tasty healthy alternative to crisps. I have to say that out of all the flavours the salt & pepper is probably the least exciting but if you get a chance definitely try pickled onion!

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Deodorant - Another great sized and valued item in this months box which I was really impressed with. Before this month I don't think I have tried any Dr Organic products so I am looking forward to giving this one a go. I normally buy my Vegan and cruelty free deodorant from Superdrug's own range and I've been really happy with this and it's price. I also tend to use spray deodorants opposed to roll on's but I will give this a good go and see how I get on with it. I have to say though from looking at the price of this roll on at £5.49 I am not sure it would be something that I would buy again.

Beyond Organic Raw Bites - I love having heathy bars like these in the cupboard as I find they're a really good guilt free snack. It was great to see two small bars in this months box and different flavours. So far I have only tried the sour cherry flavour and it was a little too much tang for my liking! I do tend to prefer the more chocolatey tasting bars like these such as the Nak'd choc orange ones.

So it's been yet another great month as a TVK customer! I would also like to add within this blog  post that my views are all my own and I don't receive anything from TVK for these reviews - not even a discount on my subscription. I signed up to the service when I first went Vegan last year and have blogged about them ever since. At times I have considered maybe ending my subscription - and that's not anything to do with the box itself but more so financial reasons or perhaps wanting to try another box for a while - but every month when my box arrives I am genuinely more than happy with it's contents and I think I would really miss getting it now. So I am staying put!

This month has also seen the arrival of the quarterly TVK Beauty Box so so stay tuned as later in the week I will also be reviewing this box's contents.
