My Month In Photos | February 2018

It's hard to believe just how slow and long January felt compared to how quickly February has came and gone. To think we are already in March from tomorrow seems crazy. I know it's a short month but still! I think it may have also felt like a bit of a whirlwind for me as it's been a pretty fun and eventful month all in all and a much better month for me than January was.

Here's all of this months highlights in photos!

A Peek Inside My Bullet Journal | Lifestyle

I can already see that at the end of 2018 I will be saying that my favourite discovery of this year has been the bullet journal. I have been so late in catching onto this trend and deciding to start my own 'BuJo' but I am so happy that I have finally discovered it and I am fully on board and loving the art of creative journalling.

48 Hours At Soho Farmhouse | Travel

Last week my husband and I enjoyed a two night staycation at Soho Farmhouse which is somewhere I have really wanted to visit for years. We don't usually do much over Valentines but when availability came up to stay there it seemed like the perfect excuse for a little romantic getaway!

Why I Became A Blogger | Life Stories

It really doesn't seem that long ago that I was slogging away in a full time office job and wishing that life would one day be quite different. I remember laying in bed with my boyfriend (*now husband) and having one of those dreamy sleepy chats where you just imagine what life would be like if you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn every day to go to do a job that you didn't really like. I never felt as though I had enough time to do anything that I really wanted to do and instead I was stuck in that oh so familiar rat race of simply living for the weekends and then dreading the inevitable return of Monday morning.

A Tour Of My Home Office | Interiors

One thing I really wanted to do more of in 2018 is interior blog posts and so I thought I would kick things off with a small photo tour around my home office. I posted a photo on Instagram a week or so ago of my workspace and you guys went crazy for it so I thought I would start with a room that I spend a lot of my time in - my home office.

Wearth Store & Giveaway | Vegan & Cruelty Free | AD

Shopping and living more ethically and environmentally friendly has really been a hot topic since the start of 2018 and an important spotlight has been put on some really damaging practices - i.e non recyclable coffee cups and the issue of plastics in our oceans. It's been great to see such meaningful causes placed at the forefront of news stories and it does at last seem like people are starting to take notice.

by CHLOE. London Launch Party | Vegan

This week I went to the most hotly anticipated event in my diary - the opening of the London branch of plant based restaurant by CHLOE. in Covent Garden. When the invite for this popped into my inbox I could have screamed with excitement! I'd heard that by CHLOE. was coming to London last year and as soon as I saw pics of all the food I just knew this was a restaurant after my own heart.

Sadly the last time I went to NYC I wasn't vegan so I didn't get to see or try out the restaurant in the Big Apple so I had no real idea of what to expect. Quite a few people had however commented on Instagram to say that the New York restaurant is amazing and the food is to die for so if anything this just raised my expectations and excitement levels. I couldn't wait to get myself to the party to see what the London restaurant is like!

There were A LOT of people at this party so it was quite challenging to get a real feel for the interior of the restaurant and take decent photographs but what I did see I loved. Especially this giant pink neon light which you can't miss and I am sure is going to be Instagrammed the life out of!

Prior to the event I wasn't really sure what to expect and whether it would be a sit down meal or a canapé kind of affair but on arrival we were greeted with servers who were kindly delivering around a whole host of food and drinks to party go-ers. We kicked off the night with a couple of glasses of fizz - it just had to be done!

Pretty soon we saw lots of miniature dishes making their way out of the kitchen and by this point I was really hungry and so eager to try some of the infamous vegan food I had heard so much about. The first dish we tried was the by CHLOE. take on the traditional British fish & chips. This is a battered tofu which, surprisingly to me, really did taste like fish especially when mixed with the tartar sauce and gorgeous minted mushy peas.

Next up we managed to get our hands on a mini Mac n'Cheese which was probably one of my favourite dishes of the night. The by CHLOE. Mac n'Cheese is made with a sweet potato and cashew cheese sauce and topped with shiitake bacon and almond palm. It was DELICIOUS. And I'll definitely be ordering this again on my next visit. (*And yeah I'm already planning on going back!).

Another mini pasta dish we got to try was the Avocado Pesto Pasta which was again equally as impressive and reminded me of how much I actually enjoy avo pasta. The pesto consistency of this dish is achieved by combining avocado with cashew and it's topped with grape tomatoes and almond palm.

One thing I was most excited to try were the by CHLOE. burgers and when these mini sliders made their way out of the kitchen I almost did a little jump for joy! All the food was going so quick so we had to be on the ball with ensuring we were first in line for a sample, it was quite stressful at times!

All I can say about this burger is WOW. Wow. WOW. It was probably the best vegan burger I have ever tried. I am amazed by how they achieved this brioche style bun which was just divine. And the burger itself just had all of the flavours I personally love in a good burger - pickles, ketchup, onion and a special sauce which really did make it quite special. The burger I got to try was the Classic Burger which includes a patty made from a combination of tempeh, lentil, chia and walnuts. It was incredible!

After the joy of the burger tasting we also managed to get our hands on some mini fries which were so cute and very tasty. by CHLOE. also do the option of sweet potato fries which sadly we didn't get to try on the night but they looked as good as you can imagine.

We ended our tasting extravaganza with some sweet treats in the shape of cupcakes. It's probably worth me mentioning here that on entering the restaurant you will be greeted with a glass cabinet which is brimming with amazing looking cakes and cookies!

All in all it was a great event and if anything just being there and sampling a small selection of whats on offer has got me even more excited for a return visit. I mean the menu is just bursting with choices, I think I'm going to have to make multiple visits to get through everything I want to try!

It's also pretty cool that by CHLOE. have made a special selection of British inspired dishes on their London menu including the above mentioned Fish n'Chips, a seitan Shepherd's Pie, Pea n'Ham soup and a Sticky Toffee Pudding. And as if all of that wasn't enough they also make some doggie treats too!

DJ Sarah Jane Crawford providing the beats!

Have you been to a by. CHLOE restaurant yet? What did you think?

And who's excited to visit the Covent Garden restaurant!???
