Tropic Haircare | Vegan & Cruelty Free | AD

When I first heard that one of my favourite skincare brands, Tropic were bringing out a new hair care range I was so excited to see what they had come up with! Having always been so impressed with their skincare and body care products I was really keen to get my hands on the new hair care range and try it out for myself. I love trying out new hair care products as it's a part of my routine that I am often happy to change up regularly as I think my hair really benefits from using different products. I have quite fine hair which I colour fairly regularly so it is prone to feeling dry and dehydrated at times and I'm therefore always keen to find products which will help to really nourish and hydrate my hair and keep it looking healthy.

So what's in the new hair care range I hear you all ask! Well, impressively, Tropic have gone a little further than just bringing out a standard shampoo and conditioner...

First up we have the Clarifying Hair Wash which in essence is the shampoo. This product was created with only biodegradable ingredients to help cleanse and refresh oily hair from root to tip, without posing a threat to marine life. The coconut derived cleansers within this hair wash provide a deep, yet gentle, clean and help to remove any buildup from your hair. Product buildup is a big annoyance of mine which is why I so often do change up my haircare routine as sticking to the same products for a long time can really lead to this too. This product is also silicone free and silicone is the main ingredient within hair products which leads to that horrible build up so you really don't have to worry about that with this product. This hair wash also contains Aloe Vera juice and babassu extracts which help to rehydrate your hair.

On trying out this product I was really impressed by how well and quickly it foamed up. One issue I have had with naturally derived shampoo products in the past is that they haven't felt as foamy as other shampoos but this one certainly didn't disappoint in the bubbles department! And maybe it's just me, but I always feel like the more bubbles, the cleaner my hair feels for it. The Clarifying Hair Wash is also a super concentrated formula meaning a little goes a long way.

The follow up product to this is their Hair Feast Deep Conditioning Treatment which can be used just like a usual daily conditioner, or left on for longer / overnight for a more intense treatment. This product contains murumuru butter which is rich in vitamins and minerals and helps to fortify your hair from the root. The plant proteins within Hair Feast also help to strengthen strands while keeping the formula vegan friendly, whilst the nourishing oils from jojoba and tamanu deeply hydrate your hair. When I first started using this conditioner I just loved how thick and buttery it felt in my hand and you can almost tell just from seeing and feeling it that it's going to have lots of conditioning power.

I've been testing these products out for a while now and the combination of the Clarifying Hair Wash and Hair Feast have just felt perfect on my hair. I've really loved how soft and healthy my hair has felt after washing and it looks in great condition. I've enjoyed using these products so much that I now save them for when I want a guaranteed good hair day! They are definitely at the pricier end of what I would usually pay for haircare products but personally I love to have special products like this to hand for the days when I really do need a good hair day or want to feel my best.

The range doesn't stop there as Tropic have also brought out their new Hair Smooth Radiance Oil which is a light styling oil designed to help soften and tame your hair. This product contains Abyssinian oil which is rich yet lightweight and fast absorbing. The maracuja oil within this product is from a variety of the passion flower plant and this helps give hair a more shiny and glossy look. Hair Smooth also contains vitamin E which works to hydrate, repair and nourish hair.

I have always loved using a tiny amount of oil on my hair as it can tend to be a little frizzy and fly away in places so I was really pleased to see this included within the new range.  Once my hair is washed and dried I apply one pump of this throughout the ends and it works like a dream. It also leaves my hair looking extra rich and glossy! This has fast become one of those products that I would really miss now if I didn't have it. And again, a little goes a really long way with this and I can see this bottle lasting me years!

Further products within Tropic's new haircare range include their Nourishing Hair Cleanser & Scalp Massager. The Nourishing Hair Cleanser is an additional hair cleansing product, but this one is quite different to the already mentioned Clarifying Hair Wash. This is in fact a non-foaming cream cleanser, which has been specifically developed for sensitive scalps and dry hair. This product is particularly good for anyone who may have coloured or bleached hair which, as we all know, can be really damaging to our hair, or very thick hair that doesn't need washing regularly. I do have my hair coloured fairly regularly and I am always therefore looking for products which will help pro-long my colour whilst also ensuring that my hair stays looking healthy.

The great thing about this product is that it can just be used on its own, it's that nourishing! But if you do feel like you need a deeper clean afterwards then you can also follow up with the Clarifying Hair Wash and Hair Feast if need be. When I've tried this on its own its worked perfectly and almost like a two in one cleanser and conditioner. It's left my hair feeling amazing!

One thing I really love about the Nourishing Hair Cleanser is that you can also use Tropic's Scalp Massager with it to get a much deeper and therapeutic clean. I have absolutely loved using this massager which has surprised me as it's not something I would usually go for. But the feeling of gently massaging my scalp with this has just been incredible and so relaxing. I've enjoyed every minute of it! Sadly it's not something I would have time for on a daily basis but on the days where I have wanted a deeper hair clean, and I've been able to spend more time in the shower, this has been perfect!

If you like the look of all of the products featured within this post and would like to try them out for yourself then I'd really recommend taking a look at Tropic's Hair Care Discovery Kit which contains miniature versions of these products. They're the perfect size for testing them out or for taking abroad with you in your hand luggage, and a set with the scalp massager is only £20!

And, if you didn't already know, Tropic are also proudly PETA, Leaping Bunny and Vegan Society certified so their products are all completely cruelty free and suitable for vegans.

Have you tried anything from Tropic's haircare range yet?

What products do you like the look of?

  1. I've been using Hair Feast as a mask every Sunday and it's made such a difference - my ends were so dry before from hair dye. I'm very tempted to get the discovery kit and try everything else out too. It's good to hear the range is working for you! xx
