My Summer Holiday Skincare Essentials | Vegan & Cruelty Free

Having already been on two amazing Summer holidays this year  I thought it was time I shared with you all my favourite 'go to' vegan and cruelty free beauty essentials which I always ensure I take away with me. I've already posted a Prepping My Skin For Summer post which includes some essential tips for ensuring your skin is in tip top condition for sun exposure. But now it's time to take a look at how I care for my skin when I'm away on holiday and spending lots of time in the sun.

Hurraw! Sun Balm

One thing I seem to really struggle with when sunbathing is burnt lips. I guess when it comes to applying sunscreen I cover my face but always seem to miss my lips completely! This sun balm by the brand Hurraw! is the perfect solution and works excellently at preventing any lip burn. It's extremely soft and buttery and applies to your lips like a dream. It's tangerine chamomile flavour also means that it has a really nice and summery scent. To be honest, this makes a great lip balm at any time of the year but the spf 15 really ensures that your lips stay looking and feeling their best when exposed to the sun for long periods of time.

Solait Sun Lotion by Superdrug

We all know how much I love Superdrug and that doesn't stop with all of my regular toiletries I buy from there because their sun care range is also the best I've ever come across. First off its extremely good value as the products tend to range between £3 - £6 and this can often work out even cheaper when they have any special promotions on, which they usually do. After using this brand of sun screen for the past few years I can confirm that it 100% works and does the job it's supposed to do so don't think that the price is any reflection on the quality. This lotion also applies really nicely with no sticky after residue which is a key for me for comfortable tanning. The lotion is so soft and moisturising and absorbs into your skin with ease. I've also found that it has some really good staying power even after a couple of dips in the pool or the sea. I really can't recommend these products enough!

Hempz After Sun Cooling Gel & Body Hydrator

I'm not always the best at remembering to apply after sun to my skin following tanning sessions but I was recently sent this After Sun Cooling Gel by the brand Hempz and I've absolutely loved using it on my holidays. I'm often put off by any gel skincare products because I automatically assume that they're going to feel sticky on my skin but this product has really proved me wrong! It works incredibly well at cooling your skin down after sun exposure and feels so refreshing when applied. On a couple of occasions my skin did feel a bit sore following too much time in the sun and this really helped to calm it down and hydrate it. I would definitely buy this product again! (*gift)

I've received lots of compliments on my tanned skin since returning home from Mykonos last week and I have these products to thank for that. I really think the prepping I've done in terms of exfoliating is also the best at helping to maintain a tan as it reduces dead skin and flaking. So hopefully I won't be fading any time soon!

If you have a Summer holiday coming up and are looking for some great sun care products to take away with you then I'd really recommend giving these a try.  Buying vegan friendly and cruelty free products shouldn't mean breaking the bank and I think that Superdrug especially have a really great affordable range which caters really well for everyone.

What's your favourite ethical sun care brand?

  2. I love Superdrug sun and skincare too! Their Solait Bronzing Lotion is my holy grail fake tan- I've gone through tonnes of the stuff. The Hempz body hydrator sounds incredible too. I love anything hemp from The Body Shop, so I might have to give this brand a try as well.

  3. I adore Superdrug's own brand, and love that they're cruelty-free as I won't use anything at all which isn't! I also really adore that you've included Hempz Beauty in this blog post babe as they're one of my favourite ever brands! 🌸✨
