New Makeup For Autumn

Whenever Autumn arrives I always feel an overwhelming need to mix up my makeup and my usual routine. Rather than minimal makeup and the barely there lips I enjoyed in the Summer, I now find myself reaching for the more bolder colours and making more of a statement with my looks, especially when I am heading out somewhere. I find that with Halloween season also comes a need to let out my inner vampy-ness and what better way to do it than with makeup!

Milani is a cruelty free makeup brand with many vegan friendly products and so when I was in the US a couple of years ago I decided to try out a few of their products and I was really impressed with everything I bought. I was recently informed that you can now buy Milani makeup from Just My Look which is such good news for UK conscious shoppers like me. I was also asked if I would like to try out some of their  vegan friendly products which I of course agreed to. To be honest I didn't even realise that you could easily buy Milani in the UK so this really was music to my ears!

I absolutely love a bold lip during Autumn and it's definitely a look I find I am embracing more and more since becoming a beauty blogger. I'm no longer afraid to make a statement when it comes to lip colours so this Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in the shade 'Adorable' is right up my street.

This liquid lip cream glides onto your lips so effortlessly and it really does provide an intense full coverage colour. When I first tried it out I was so impressed by how long it lasted and that it didn't feel tacky. It's also water resistant so even after drinking numerous drinks it was still intact.

I really like the shade 'Adorable' as, despite being quite bold (compared to what I usually wear it is anyway!), it's actually a great 'every day' shade which doesn't look out of place on a day time look, but is equally as good for an evening look. I'm a big fan of nude shades anyway so I knew I would like this one and the shade is just perfect for Autumn.

I have had somewhat of a love hate relationship with matte lip products in the past as I really love the long lasting wear of them but I don't always like the sensation of dry lips. I do find though that the more you take care of your lips, and invest some time in scrubbing them regularly, the better the matte lip look works. A favourite scrub of mine, which has recently just come back into stock for the season, is the Santa Baby Lip Scrub from Lush.

Bronzer is a makeup product I use all year round but I definitely find myself reaching for it more during the Autumn/Winter months when my skin starts to look less sun kissed. I don't really feel that my makeup is complete without bronzer so it's a real must have for me. This Milani Baked Bronze in the shade 'Glow' is exactly the kind of bronzer I would usually go for as the threads of gold throughout it give it a glowing shimmer which I feel adds an extra warm tone to your skin. This bronzer is also quite pigmented so I only needed to use a little to achieve the warm glow I was looking for.

Another new product I have tried by Milani is this Baked Blush in the shade 'Berry Amore'.

Lately, and throughout the Summer, I have been using cream based blushers and, although I enjoy the dewy finish of them, I have found myself wanting to go back to a good old powder blush again. It actually feels like ages since I've used a powder blush and I have to say that I've been really impressed by how well this one by Milani applies. In the past I have found blushers like this to not even be noticeable on my skin without really layering it on but this Baked Blush really was a dream to apply. It's so silky smooth and highly pigmented and again, a little goes a long way!

One of the things that has also really impressed me with these Milani products is the packaging. They all feel like such high quality products and the gold mirrored finishing is seriously the prettiest I have ever seen on a makeup brand. It's what I would expect from a high end brand! The compacts particularly are a joy to look at and hold.

In Autumn I love to go for different shades of brown, orange and plum on my eyes. Basically anything that looks fiery and warm works for me. When I saw this Down To Earth Quad Eye Shadow palette by The Body Shop it ticked a lot of boxes for me. Can you ever have too many neutral palettes like this!? I personally don't think so!

I absolutely love the orangey/sand shade in this palette which works wonderfully with the darkest shade in your eyelid crease for a more dramatic look. These shadows are also nicely pigmented and super easy to apply and blend out. I know this is a palette I will keep reaching for at the moment as the shades are just perfect for my eye colour and skin tone.

  3. I love this look - the lipstick shade suits you so well and the eyeliner look is really cool and different. I'm the same with blusher - I often reach for creams over the summer but have reverted back to powder blush now that it's getting cooler. I haven't tried nearly enough from Milani and not anything since going vegan so I should check them out! xx
