Weleda Nourishing Hair Oil

Up until now I had never tried any products by Weleda but they have been on my radar for a long time as I frequently spot their products within health shops. I was recently asked if I would like to try something from their vegan friendly range and I of course jumped at the chance to get to know this brand a little better. 

Weleda is a world leader in holistic natural cosmetics and pharmaceuticals for anthroposophical therapies. Weleda claim to be 'In harmony with nature and the human being' and they promise to bring 'stimulation to your body, mind and soul'. 

Taking into account the body's close relationship to nature, Weleda produce 100% natural products which are certified by Natrue. As well as this, Weleda's products are completely cruelty free and they  also carry the butterfly mark which is only awarded to luxury lifestyle brands who care about the planets resources. A large proportion of Weleda's products are vegan friendly which is great to know and it's really easy to search for them by just typing 'vegan' into their search engine. I spent some time scouring their vegan pages for the perfect product to try out and it took me quite a while as there was too much to choose from! In end I decided on their Nourishing Hair Oil as I am always on the look out for products which can help to give my hair a boost. I also love to indulge in a spot of home pampering and in the past I have found hair oils to be a great way of giving my hair a long and overnight deep conditioning. 

This Nourishing Hair Oil contains natural oils and extracts which help to nourish your hair and repair split ends whilst putting some shine back into dry hair. With invigorating rosemary oil, clover and burdock root extracts it gives a deep conditioning treatment that also makes hair more manageable. 

To use this product you simply massage a few drops into your hair and scalp and leave in until you wash it out. As already mentioned, I love to use products like these overnight so my hair can get a real deep conditioning for a number of hours. When doing this I completely saturate my hair in the oil so that all of it is completely covered and I then wash it out the next morning. If you do opt to use it as a hair mask I would advise maybe shampooing your hair twice afterwards or else you may find that your hair still feels a little greasy after just one wash. 

You can also use this oil as a leave in product too. Simply comb a couple of drops through wet hair before drying and this will help to add more shine to your hair and tame it down if it's difficult to manage.   

I have used this product a few times now and I have to say I have been impressed by the results, particularly when used as a hair mask / treatment. My hair has felt and looked incredibly soft and shiny and it has also helped to put some moisture back into my previously bleached ends which always tend to look a little dry and frizzy. I have also found it to be the perfect solution for when I feel as though my hair is acting a bit 'fly away' or static. It works really effectively at smoothing down frizz and adding a bit of weight to my hair. 

I have quite fine hair which has a tendency to get greasy quite quickly so this product didn't work so well for me as a leave in oil and I think you need to consider your hair type before using as it won't be for everyone. 

I also loved the smell of this hair oil which I can only describe as a mix of rosemary, flowers and 'earthy'. It's not too much of an overbearing scent but one that I found to be really relaxing to use. 

I think the only thing that would have put me off this product is it's slightly medicinal and clinical look. It really reminds me of a medicine I used to take as a child! That being said I do think that the green glass bottle helps this to feel like a high end and quality product. 

Priced at £10.95 for 50ml, this is a more expensive brand and product opposed to what I have used in the past but I am pretty sure the bottle is going to last me a really long time as so little goes such a long way. I am also happy to pay a bit more for a product if it is natural, vegan and cruelty free.
