Naturally Radiant Skin Care by Superdrug

I happened to be having a little mooch around Superdrug a couple of weeks ago when I noticed that their own branded skin care range was in a half price sale. I have really liked a lot of Superdrug's own branded toiletries and cosmetics in the past and the fact that they are cruelty free, vegan friendly and reasonably priced make them even more appealing. With all of that in mind, and the crazy low prices, I decided to pick up three products from the Naturally Radiant range to try out for myself.

With Winter approaching and my Summer holidays feeling like they were years ago already, my skin has recently felt a bit dull and like it's been lacking a healthy glow. I think this is why the Naturally Radiant skin care range appealed to me so much whilst initially deciding what to buy in the shop as i've really felt like I could benefit from some luminosity lately.

In the past Dermalogica have been my go-to brand for great skin care products so I was keen to pick up some equivalents of what i've used and liked from their range.

Firstly I wanted to find a replacement for my Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. This was a great exfoliating cleanser which I loved to use in the shower in the morning and it always left my skin feeling extra clean and smooth. When I saw that the Naturally Radiant Brightening Micro Polish had exfoliating qualities I knew that this had potential to be a great dupe for this product.

As it's an exfoliator, this product recommends that you only use it around twice a week with it's purpose being to remove dead skin cells and restore a luminous complexion. I have to say that I wish I could use it every day as i've found myself actually looking forward to using it. I honestly didn't think i'd be able to find another product like this which I would love as much but I most certainly have.

You only need to use a pea size amount of this polish which you massage onto your face in circular motions. I absolutely love the sensation of the grainy texture against my skin as it really does feel like you're achieving that deeper cleanse. You can almost feel and imagine the dead skin cells being removed and once rinsed off your face is left feeling incredibly soft and smooth.

I feel a little shocked that this cleanser is a sixth of the price of what I used to pay at Dermalogica and  in my opinion it works just as well.

I also wanted a nice daytime moisturiser to use before applying my make up so I picked up the Brightening Radiance Balm. Everything about the name of this product appealed to me as both brightness and radiance is exactly what i've needed over the past few weeks!

I've been really impressed by this lightweight moisturiser which importantly hasn't left my skin feeling oily or sticky after use. Once applied to my skin it seems to absorb quite quickly which makes it perfect to use before applying make up. It also contains light reflecting pearls which work really well at instantly adding some luminosity to my skin.

I used to use Dermalogica's oil free Active Moist which was also a nice lightweight moisturiser but with this option from Superdrug coming in at a huge £19 cheaper and vegan friendly it's pretty much a no brainer!

The last item on my list was to buy an eye cream. I'm often worried about dark circles under my eyes and looking tired so I thought I would try using an eye cream for the first time ever. I've used sample eye creams in the past but I never got into a routine of using one all the time, which is surprising as  i've always enjoyed the sensation of eye treatments.

This Brightening Eye Cream instantly caught my attention. It claims to be able to soften and smooth the skin around your eyes whilst also reducing dark circles and puffiness. It definitely sounded like the right product for refreshing and energising my eyes so I couldn't wait to try it.

Over the past few weeks I have factored this product into my bedtime routine by lightly dabbing small amounts onto my under eye area whilst I lay in bed and prepare for sleep. I've actually found it to be a pretty relaxing experience and it certainly helps to soothe tired eyes at the end of the day. My skin has definitely felt softer and smoother since using this but i'm afraid to say the dark circles still remain. The product recommends using for four weeks before noticing a difference in dark circles and I've now been using it for around three weeks so maybe I need to give it more of a chance and perhaps aim to also include it in my morning routine too.

Overall I have been really impressed yet again by Superdrug's products and i'd recommend Naturally Radiant skin care to anyone looking to swap to more affordable and cruelty free products. I'm looking forward to trying more products from this range and I already have my eye on the Renewal Face Mask which sounds perfect for some additional pampering.

What are your favourite Superdrug products? I'd love to hear some recommendations!

  1. I've not tried any of the superdrug own brand skincare since going vegan 6 months ago, but I'm definitely going to have a nosey at them now!

  2. Wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser to remove dead skin cells, dirt and oils. Next, use a toner to get rid of the residue that may remain after cleansing, Finally, apply a light, noncomedogenic moisturizer to maintain your skin's balance. Moderate to severe acne sufferers can use specialized acne cream with ingredients such as tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide to combat breakouts while replenishing moisture. rejuvenation skin treatment
